Beer & Cider

It has no ingredients containing gluten but there is a chance of extremely low level traces from using the same packaging equipment as beer. Because of this it is not Certified Gluten Free.

Bertie contains no added sugar because we believe true apple cider shouldn’t taste like apple cordial with booze and bubbles.

All Colonial Brewing Co beers and ciders are vegan friendly.

 A sour beer is a beer that which has an intentionally acidic, tart, or sour taste. For our South West Sour range, this is achieved by a process called ‘Kettle Souring’. “Kettle” refers to the brew kettle, meaning the beer is soured in a stainless steel mash tun. This denotes the key difference between kettle sours and traditional sours: steel over barrel.

Unfortunately our supplier stopped producing the lids. We’re still on the hunt for a replacement supplier but until then it’s back to the OG can tops. We’re looking forward to the day that we can rip the lid off again soon!

The Haze Craze has taken the craft beer industry by storm and we’re all for it. A Hazy beer gets its haziness from a few different ingredients but it’s generally a combination of a haze inducing yeast strain, a high protein malt base, and being heavily dry hopped during the brew process.

All beers except the fruited ones (South West Sour Watermelon Raspberry, Barrel Age Rubus). Although our beers do use the same equipment as non-kosher beers with thorough cleaning in between.

This changes according to the brewing schedule and demand of our large range of beers.

Venue

Unless we’ve announce technical issues with our booking system through Facebook or Instagram it is most likely that the venue is fully booked during the period you are trying to book.

Well behaved / friendly 4 legged friends are welcome outside and in the beer garden as long as they’re on a leash.

You can pick up your orders at our Port Melbourne Brewery at 89 Bertie Street, Port Melbourne. Simply chat to our staff at the bar and they will retrieve your order.

We are happy to exchange merchandise if you’ve ordered the wrong item or size (subject to availability). We don’t offer exchanges on beer unless you’ve received faulty stock or your order has been damaged in transit. Please email weborders@colonialbrewingco.com.au for enquiries. 

As we usually ship all orders by midday the following day, if you would like to adjust your order, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can amend this before it goes out!
